Linda has been designing wedding cakes since 1979. At the time she thought that she wanted to be a nurse and was working as a nurses aid. When her Mother-In-Law learned that she was interested in making cakes she offered to pay for her first classes. The first wedding cake she did was for her sisters wedding. Linda did a dummy cake of what her sister wanted for the final class so her sister could see she could do a good job. Linda also was a manager of a theater for a few years and by the time the theater closed, Linda was busy enough to go into the cake business full time. Linda loves doing cakes especially creating new designs for her brides.
Linda won 1st place and “Best of Professional Division” at the National Capital Area Cake show in 2015 for this outstanding Peacock wedding cake.
The jewels on the top was made of pasta and fondant and the cake was gilded with gold. This was an Asian inspired peacock theme with a hand painted peacock as the focal point.
